Jimmy bought Celine Dion tickets for my birthday last August and we had to wait till April to go, but it was worth the wait. Amazing show!!! I love Celine Dion!
We went to the "Pawn Star Palace" to get photo's, My youngest daughter begged us too! We got hera T-shirt that says:" I love Chumlee" and this photo. :) She's soooo silly!
Jimmy had seen this black car pull out and said " I think thats the old man, sure enough he was right....If you have seen the show you know who I mean....
MGM lion, ok thats good enough for now. Have a great night.

I sure have enjoyed my down time for the past two weeks :) My department shut down for two weeks so I got to enjoy waking my kids up, making breakfast, and doing some needlework. Of course we had baby Melina (niece) for the first week and now I'm trying to get excited about going back to work and failing miserably!!! I did get some primitive decor lots on e-bay BUT one person could not pay yet and another never even attempted to pay! That is the first time I have ever had any real problems as a seller. :( anyhow I wanted to share the pillow cases, towels and tiny pillow I stitched up this week. Starting tonight Or in the morning I'm starting a Hexagon Star quilt with my old left over fabrics from the dolls. Wish me luck for it's going to take FOREVER and I have A.d.d. and will probley get bored with it fast.

I did this so Jimmy would not get my favorite pillow mixed up with his.... J/k He rolled his eyes when I said that to him.
I forgot to mention, Cassidy (mdd) and I found these on the back corner of our property, I never knew we had these sweet little things growing. YUM!
An example of my towels,I think there so simple and cute.
and a new flower,Cassidy was playing with the camera.

I hope everyone is have a great July and had a wonderful 4rth.

Blessings, Connie

Summer fresh Salsa

I want to share with you my mom's and my refreshing salsa recipe. It's a great recipe because you can change it up however you'd like. :)

Originally we doubled this, but it was just WAY to much, It would work for a family reunion or graduation, AND of course if you have any of these things growing in garden USE them instead of the canned veggies.

In a large bowl mix your diced stewed Italian tomatoes, white corn, black beans, pinto or any kind of bean.
wash and dice up 4 peppers, its nice to use as many colors as available for the effect.  I add one hot pepper (your choice) because I do not want it to hot.

I add lots of cilantro because its my favorite. (optional also)

and as much "fresh" lemon juice as you'd like.
wallah.... use your fave chip and enjoy.

kitchen makeover

My super sweet fiance Jimmy helped me dig in the heels and get the kitchen made over. I'm about to share the old and new pictures....PLEASE don't judge to harshly, at the time the mustard yellow was kinda cool, not really but I thought it was then. :( My house is very small, more cottage sized I guess but it was in the budget at the time and in one of the best school districts for my three kiddos. Needless to say, the word "outdated" best explains it. It has been fun fixing up and changing slowly. It feels good to look back and see the differences. OK.....are you brave enough to look?
here goes...
old sink and counter...
new sink and tiled counter...
old ...

new...
We used Martha Stewart "light Strokes"in  Twig for the rest of the walls. love it!

and I'll leave with a photo of Melina, Jimmy's baby niece that we LOVE so MUCH! We took his dad out today for Fathers Day to "Cracker Barre"l and got to see the baby too! We get her for a week soon, I can't wait. :)

New Prim Dollies

Happy Tuesday night everyone is "Blog Land"

I was itching to make something sweet, simple and primitive tonight. I made up these little girl with one of my own patterns from "thee good olde days"

Hope everyone is having a nice night. I will be searching mags and blogs in the next 2-weeks to find inspiration for my kitchen makeover. It's time!!! Plus I REALLY need to re-paint my bedroom, I took over my sons room and its light blue (UGHHH) you can see in the background of the picture below. :( I'm not sure which color would look best with my antique bedroom set and the new hard wood flooring, if anyone out there has ideas let me know, PLEASE! direct me to a blog or web-site :)
That's all for now....I'm off to bed!

A great weekend indeed!

Hello everyone, just popping in to share my weekend, I had to work this morning of course (hard to turn down overtime pay) then my dad, both daughters, Jimmy & I headed out to Ducklake. A small lake connected to Lake Michigan. A place I went to a LOT as a kid. My dad had been talking about a "bottle dump" for years. He and my aunt had found a bunch of old antique bottles in the past, so we thought we'd search it out...no such luck but we still made the best of it. We had a scare here in the last month. Dad was having heart issues we were told but it turns out he is ok he just has to watch himself. THANK GOD!!!
My dad & my girls, Darcy and Cassidy.

The Lake Michigan Blockhouse...
Then....we searched for an old Indian cemetary, walked the woods next to Lake Michigan and I collected these acorn tops, lol I have no idea why. There HAS to be something cool I can do with them, it was so nice, the fresh air and the time spent with my family.
I hope everyone is haveing a great weekend as well! Also...Thank you to all of my newest followers :) I'm happy youe here!

The Beautiful Sun was out here in Michigan today, I sure have missed it. I wanted to pop on here and share the photo's of my latest projects. These projects are what keep me going while I'm at work I plan things all out in my head, then apply them when I get home (when not too tired) Here they are, hope you all like them.

~First is Holly. She is a 6-inch mini jointed mohair bear. She's so darn sweet! I already gave her to a friend at work for her Birthday.

~Next is Haley, same size and style as Holly but I used a mix of mohair. I will post her to my "Etsy" at some point.

This is my hand & needle felted pillow. I just LOVE working with this bulk loose wool and alpaca. I made mittens for my mom and aunt as well.

When in Rome

Well.... it has been close to a year since I last Blogged, I enjoy blogging, I've even missed it, but a lot has changed in my life so I'll try to do a fast catch up. lol
I started a new full time job in July of last year so that has taken my days when I used to blog. Plus dealing with all the animals and and my children and so on and so on.
Jimmy and I went to Italy at Christmas time. We started in Rome, the Vatican City and took the train across the country to Florence, Venice, Pisa and of course the country side of Tuscany and Siena. The country side is EVERYTHING you see in the movies and so much more.I cant even imagine how the country looks in the spring or summer. Breath taking I bet!
Here are a few photos, we took hundreds but I do not have the patience to sit here to long uploading. Plus lets just be honest it would get boring for you to look at as well. tee hee

we"ll start with "Rome"cuz we did.

Pisa..... then Florence

 Florence then

 Siena the.....
